Jenny A Wilkins
I am a dedicated horse rider who discovered horses at the age of 40. My first riding experience was a 7-day trail ride on the largest sand island in the world: Fraser Island, Queensland, Australia. I was immediately hooked and very shortly afterwards, bought a property in the Macedon Ranges, Victoria, Australia and turned it into a wonderful horse breeding and agistment facility.
I rose early every morning (5.30 am), to train my dressage horses before leaving for work in the ‘big smoke’ (CBD). I bred some wonderful young Warmbloods and also judged at dressage competitions.
For many years, my love of horses took me to the four corners of the globe. I rode the rugged mountains of West Virginia where the legacy of bootleggers and distilleries was still visible. I trekked along the abandoned cattle trails of Avila in Spain refreshed by an aperitifo of sherry and jamon and the local paella. I galloped along the rugged Irish coast with the wild Connemara ponies. And I rode along the beaches of St Maries de la Mer in southern France watched by the grey Camargue horses and the gypsies.
Please enjoy my first publication which is a short story about the impact of horses on the lives of famous literary heroines. Ready to buy now.
My second publication is a novella set in the high country of Australia, an extraordinarily wilderness area of Australia. Out at the beginning of 2019.
